The government of Italy is preparing to revise its economic growth projections downward this Wednesday, citing regional instability in the Middle East and rising energy expenses. According to government officials, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s administration expects to lower the 2024 growth estimate to between 0.5% and 0.6%, down from the previous 0.7% target. The outlook for 2025 is also anticipated to be trimmed to a range of 0.6% to 0.7%, compared to the earlier 0.8% forecast.
