Italy Economy Stalls in Third Quarter

Italy reported no economic growth in the third quarter falling short of analyst expectations. Gross domestic product rose 0.8 percent year-on-year according to data from national statistics bureau ISTAT.

Italy's economy stalled in the third quarter, missing forecasts as preliminary GDP came in flat compared with the previous three months. The flat reading follows a 0.2% expansion in the second quarter and a 0.3% rise in the first quarter. The slowdown tests the government's newly upgraded full-year growth targets of 1% for 2026.
