BMW Launches i3 Electric Sedan to Revive China Sales
BMW says China's EV market is stabilizing as the firm reveals its new i3 sedan. The automaker aims to regain market share following a sales slump last year.
Bayerische Motoren Werke AG has reported that pricing for electric vehicles in China is beginning to stabilize following a period of aggressive market discounting. Sales chief Jochen Goller discussed the trend in Munich, Germany, noting that the premium carmaker is preparing to launch its Neue Klasse technology platform to modernize its lineup and remain competitive in the rapidly evolving automotive sector.
The company recently showcased its new i3 all-electric sedan, which is built on the Neue Klasse foundation. This platform is central to the strategy of reclaiming market share in the world's largest car market, where European manufacturers have faced significant pressure from local brands during a prolonged price war.
