BMW reported a 3.5 percent drop in global deliveries today. A 3 percent rise in Europe failed to offset significant sales drops in China and the United States.

BAYERISCHE MOTOREN WERKE AG reported a 3.5% decline in global deliveries for the first quarter of 2026, as weak demand in key international markets pressured the Germany-based premium automaker's sales. The group delivered a total of 565,748 vehicles during the three-month period ending in March. While sales for the BMW and MINI brands saw a 3% increase in Europe, this growth was insufficient to offset significant pullbacks in other major regions.

In China, deliveries fell by 10%, marking a sharp downturn in the world's largest auto market. Similarly, sales in the United States dropped by 4.3%. These results underscore the broader challenges currently facing European luxury car manufacturers as they navigate shifting demand and economic headwinds.

With these latest figures, the group joins other prominent German manufacturers reporting similar difficulties in the Chinese market. These include MERCEDES-BENZ GROUP AG and VOLKSWAGEN AG, as well as brands such as Porsche and Audi, all of which have recently experienced falling delivery numbers in the region.
