Import prices in the United States rose 0.2% in January, as a surge in the cost of capital goods more than offset a decline in energy products. According to data released by the Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) on Thursday, this monthly gain followed an upwardly revised 0.2% increase in December, aligning with the expectations of economists polled by Reuters.
