US extends Lukoil gas station waiver until late October
The Trump administration extended a waiver for Lukoil to operate 2,000 stations outside Russia until October 29. The move affects assets in the US and Europe.
The United States government has extended a specific waiver allowing LUKOIL PJSC to continue operating its retail service stations outside of Russia until late October. This decision represents a narrow exception to the broader sanctions regime implemented last year, which was designed to limit revenues used to fund the conflict in Ukraine.
According to the Treasury Department, the extension applies to approximately 2,000 service stations located across Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas. The waiver is now set to expire on October 29. The original sanctions, which also targeted ROSNEFT OIL CO PJSC, have sparked significant interest from potential investors looking to acquire portions of the company's international asset portfolio, valued at an estimated $22 billion.
