The United States Justice Department and six states settled a civil antitrust lawsuit against data firm Agri Stats. The 2023 complaint alleged Agri Stats reports enabled anti-competitive pricing across the chicken, pork, and turkey industries. The settlement aims to lower consumer meat prices by ending information advantages held by major producers.
Acting U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche announced the settlement on late evening. The case had been scheduled for trial before the agreement was reached.
