Ukraine Fails to Pass Key Parcel Tax Before IMF Visit
Ukrainian lawmakers failed to approve a tax on imported parcels worth less than 150 euros on Tuesday. The legislation is a key condition for an 8.1 billion dollar IMF loan program as the monitoring mission arrives in Kyiv to review the country's progress on expanding its domestic revenue base.

Ukrainian parliament failed to pass legislation on Tuesday evening to tax imported parcels, which would generate around 10 billion hryvnias ($227.53 million) annually. The vote occurred just before an IMF mission arrives to review an $8.1 billion lending program. Failure to expand the tax base threatens access to a further €90 billion European Union support package.
