T-Mobile opened its first global capability center in India on Thursday, planning to hire 1,000 workers by 2027. The telecom operator leased 250,000 square feet of office space in Hyderabad to house the new facility. The facility will build technical capabilities across software engineering, DevOps, and product development.
### Shifting Beyond Low-Cost Outsourcing The new center in Hyderabad marks a transition from traditional outsourcing to integrated global operations. The Telangana state IT ministry said the facility will focus on software engineering, DevOps, and cybersecurity. These centers now serve as local offices that support parent organizations through data analytics and product innovation.
