Starbucks Reelects Full Board Despite Labor Group Push
Starbucks investors reelected the full board this week, rejecting a labor challenge. The vote follows the removal of a committee that oversaw labor relations.
Shareholders of Starbucks Corporation have reelected the company's full board of directors, signaling a major victory for leadership over a coalition of labor-focused investor groups. The vote results, disclosed on Monday, confirm that investors chose to maintain the current board composition despite a targeted campaign against two specific directors accused of failing to properly oversee labor relations.
The challenge was led by a group of shareholders with ties to organized labor who urged investors to vote against Jorgen Vig Knudstorp and Beth Ford. The coalition cited concerns over the board's decision to dissolve the Environmental, Partner, and Community Impact Committee, which had been established in 2023 to monitor the company's approach to its workforce and union negotiations.
