Russia holds interest rate at 14 percent
The Russian central bank kept its key rate at 14 percent while raising its 2026 inflation forecast. Officials cited refinery attacks and higher utility fees as key pressures.

Russia held its key interest rate at 14% during Thursday morning's policy meeting while lifting its 2026 inflation forecast to a range between 7.1% and 7.6%. The central bank acted for the second consecutive rate-setting session as domestic price pressures persist across the near-stagnant economy. Policymakers now aim to rein in inflation back to the official 4% target by 2027.
