The National Bank of Ukraine held its key interest rate at 15% on Thursday midday. Governor Andriy Pyshnyi signaled the rate could remain at this level through the second quarter of 2027. Persistent energy infrastructure damage and rising fuel costs are forcing a pivot toward tighter, long-term stability.
Most economists at investment bank ICU expected the hold. Pyshnyi said the rate path addresses risks from Russia and geopolitical shifts in the Middle East involving Iran.
