Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to resume US-mediated peace talks with Ukraine as soon as next month, following a meeting with US envoy Steve Witkoff in St Petersburg. The diplomatic push comes more than two years after the United States pledged to end the conflict within 24 hours. The renewed technical-level dialogue aims to establish security guarantees for both Moscow and Kyiv once hostilities cease.
