Norway opposes European gas price caps as costs rise
Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere says capping gas prices is unwise even as the war on Iran drives up costs. Norway remains a reliable energy provider to Europe.
Norway Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere stated on Thursday that implementing a price cap on natural gas would be a counterproductive move for the European energy market. During an industry conference in Oslo, the Prime Minister reaffirmed the country's position as a consistent energy provider while cautioning against regulatory measures that could disrupt supply dynamics.
The recent volatility in energy prices, which impacts the broader sector including firms like Natural Gas Services Group, Inc., has seen costs rise by roughly 60%. This significant increase is largely attributed to the geopolitical tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
