Italy reviews golden power request for Ferretti
Italy is assessing a request by KKCG to investigate if Ferretti investors breached strategic asset rules. This follows a dispute where China's Weichai Group kept control.
Italy is reviewing a request from Czech Republic investor KKCG Maritime to investigate whether shareholders in Ferretti breached national "golden power" regulations. The move follows a shareholder vote where investors backed China-based Weichai Group in a board dispute. The outcome determines if Rome will intervene in the governance of the luxury yacht maker to protect strategic national assets.
### Rome Probes Strategic Breach Claims Industry Minister Adolfo Urso said Friday that relevant departments at the defense and industry ministries are currently considering the request. Urso noted that officials are working quickly to assess if the investment structure violates rules designed to shield sensitive industries. The "golden power" legislation allows the Italian government to veto or impose conditions on corporate transactions involving companies deemed vital to national security.
