JSW STEEL LTD reported a 153% jump in adjusted quarterly profit on Thursday as price recoveries and infrastructure demand offset rising energy costs. The Mumbai-based producer's revenue from operations climbed 14.2% to 511.8 billion rupees during the quarter ended March 31, beating LSEG estimates of 496.86 billion rupees. This performance signals a recovery for the steel sector in India despite geopolitical disruptions in the Middle East.
### Price Recovery and Domestic Demand Sales volume rose 6% during the period, supported by a 10.4% increase in domestic steel consumption. Demand typically peaks in the March quarter as the government accelerates project execution before the fiscal year ends.
