Hungary and Slovakia tap emergency oil reserves after Croatia rejects Russian supply request

Hungary and Slovakia are tapping emergency stocks after Croatia opposed their request for Russian crude. The move follows the shutdown of the Druzhba pipeline.

Croatia HRHR has formally cautioned against a request from Hungary HUHU and Slovakia SKSK to import Russian RURU seaborne oil via the Adria (JANAF) pipeline (SY:JANAF). This announced development places the diplomatic and logistical dispute at the center of ongoing efforts to replace supplies cut off by the shutdown of the Druzhba pipeline (SY:DRUZHBA). The pipeline, which transports oil from Russia through Ukraine UAUA, has been out of service since January 27, creating an immediate supply disruption for the two landlocked nations.
