As part of the 20th sanctions package, the proposal was put forward to the European Commission and the wider European Union to address sector-level activities related to the transport of oil. By identifying specific facilities like the Kulevi port (Georgia) and the Karimun port (Indonesia), the European Union aims to broaden the reach of its policy regarding the maritime logistics of Russian petroleum.
