China sentenced former Shanxi governor Jin Xiangjun to death with a two-year reprieve on Tuesday morning after finding him guilty of accepting 148 million yuan ($22.05 million) in bribes. The ruling follows an investigation launched by national anti-graft authorities in April 2025. China's anti-corruption campaigns have targeted high-ranking provincial officials over project contracting and job promotions.
