China sentenced former defense ministers Wei Fenghe and Li Shangfu to death with a two-year reprieve on Thursday afternoon over graft charges. The sentences follow a decade-long military crackdown ordered by President Xi Jinping to eliminate corruption within the armed forces. The purge has reached the elite ranks, including the Rocket Force and the top echelons of the People's Liberation Army command.
