China pledges to expand visa-free entry for tourists
China will grant visa-free entry to more nations and improve transit policies to boost tourism. The plan also includes more sports events and airline discounts.
The commerce ministry of China has announced a series of new measures aimed at boosting spending by international visitors. According to a statement released on Friday, the government plans to expand its visa-free entry scheme to cover more countries and will work to improve existing visa-free transit policies. These initiatives are part of a broader effort to enhance the travel experience for foreigners and stimulate domestic consumption. In addition to policy changes regarding entry, the commerce ministry is encouraging airlines to offer more competitive discounts on connecting flights that include long layovers within the country. Furthermore, the initiative calls upon local authorities to organize and host a greater number of international sports events to attract global tourists. By simplifying entry requirements and increasing the variety of local attractions, the government hopes to revitalize the tourism sector and capture a larger share of global travel spending.
