Canada is moving to accelerate the conclusion of a free-trade agreement with the South American Mercosur bloc, with officials targeting a final deal by the autumn. The government plans to intensify the negotiation schedule, aiming for discussions to take place approximately every six weeks to meet the end-of-year goal.
Maninder Sidhu, Canada’s Minister of International Trade, outlined the ambitious timeline during the World Trade Organization ministerial conference in Cameroon.
