Adani Green Slows Expansion Over Grid Limits
Adani Green is restricting annual capacity additions to 5 gigawatts to avoid power waste. The firm lost 5 billion rupees last year due to evacuation constraints.
ADANI GREEN ENERGY LTD is intentionally slowing its pace of renewable energy expansion in India due to significant infrastructure hurdles. Despite possessing the financial resources and technical expertise to install between 7 and 8 gigawatts (GW) of capacity annually, the company has capped its yearly additions at approximately 4.5 to 5 GW to align with the country's limited power transmission capabilities.
Executive Director Sagar Adani explained during a post-earnings conference call that the decision stems from a strategic move to avoid past inefficiencies where generated electricity could not reach the national grid.
