First Brands, a bankrupt automotive parts manufacturer based in the United States, has reached an agreement to divest its Walbro business line. The buyer, Canada-headquartered Active Dynamics Group, will acquire the unit for $50 million. The transaction is part of a broader effort by First Brands to navigate its bankruptcy restructuring and resolve outstanding fraud claims.

Walbro specializes in the production of small engine fuel systems, carburetors, fuel pumps, and ignition systems. The deal also includes the Carter Carburetor brand. First Brands indicated that the divestiture will have a significant impact on its workforce, particularly in locations such as Mexico.

\"The sale will preserve 600 jobs in Michigan, Arizona, and Los Mochis, Mexico,\" First Brands said.

First Brands originally filed for bankruptcy in September 2025 and has since been working to sell off various assets to satisfy creditors. While the company is currently exploring a sale for its towing business, Horizon, it has already closed several other units—including Brake Parts, Cardone, and Autolite—without securing buyers.
