Zurich Insurance surpasses market expectations with annual operating profit of nearly nine billion dollars
Zurich Insurance reported an annual operating profit of 8.86 billion dollars on Thursday. Strong property and casualty results helped the firm beat estimates.
Zurich Insurance (SY:Zurich Insurance) announced on Feb. 19 that it has achieved a full-year operating profit of $8.86 billion. This figure topped the analysts' median estimate (company-provided poll) (SY:analysts' median estimate (company-provided poll)) of $8.76 billion, resulting in a measurable beat of approximately $0.10 billion. The results were officially announced as part of the company's annual earnings release, which exceeded market expectations for the 2025 financial year.
The outperformance was primarily driven by a better-than-expected performance in the property and casualty business (SY:property and casualty business). This segment’s contribution was the key driver behind the insurer's ability to surpass the median estimates provided by analysts in the company-provided poll, highlighting the strength of its core operations.
