World Bank Lifts Africa Growth Forecast
The World Bank has raised Africa economic growth forecast for 2026 to 4.3 percent. The lender urged governments to embrace artificial intelligence to boost productivity and jobs. However officials warned that faster growth has not yet reduced poverty.

The World Bank raised Africa's 2026 economic growth forecast to 4.3% on Tuesday morning, driven by stronger regional performance and ongoing reforms. The upgrade follows an expansion of 4.1% in 2025 and tops the 4.1% projection issued in April. The lender urges governments to embrace artificial intelligence to accelerate productivity and job creation.
