United States West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude rose 41 cents or 0.43% on open to $105.50 a barrel as conflict with Iran persists. The price earlier touched a prior intraday Thursday high of $110.93, the highest level since April 7. Sustained geopolitical tension threatens to choke global oil supplies for months, driving WTI toward a fourth monthly gain.
WTI futures closed down $1.81, or 1.69%, at $105.07. Brent Crude Oil is also tracking toward its fourth consecutive month of gains. Supply concerns center on the risk of prolonged disruption to global energy flows.
