US Democrats Urge USPS to Halt Mail Voting Rules
Senate Democrats urged the US Postal Service to halt new mail in voting rules. Lawmakers warn the regulations threaten election integrity ahead of November.

Senate Democrats urged the United States Postal Service on Friday morning to halt work on new mail-in voting rules, warning the changes threaten the integrity of upcoming congressional elections. Seven senators on the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee demanded the agency abandon what they termed illegal attempts to act as an election administration agency. The dispute centers on an executive order signed by President Donald Trump requiring unique barcodes and voter-specific data on all mail-in ballots.
