Canada trade minister Dominic LeBlanc said negotiations with the United States face a tight deadline before 50% tariffs on imports take effect overnight on Saturday. The two sides met in Washington for a third consecutive day to avert duties on $20 billion worth of goods. President Donald Trump warned he will impose the new levies if an agreement is not reached.
