Belgian Air Traffic Halted by Unannounced Tuesday Strike
Brussels airport announced that air traffic in Belgium will stop from 1200 to 1900 GMT on Tuesday due to a strike. Airlines must cancel all scheduled flights.
Belgium will halt all air traffic on June 2 after air traffic controllers launched an unannounced strike. Brussels airport officials confirmed the work stoppage requires airlines to cancel every scheduled flight during the midday to early evening window. This action halts all arrivals and departures at the regional aviation hub.
The strike began midday Tuesday and is scheduled to last through early evening. Brussels airport stated that the unannounced nature of the action left airlines with no lead time to reroute flights.
