Ukraine US Fund to Approve Energy Project This Summer
Ukraine expects its joint reconstruction fund with the U.S. to approve a second project this summer. The fund aims to reach $200 million by the end of 2026.
The joint reconstruction fund established by the United States and Ukraine is expected to approve its second major investment project this summer. Ukraine's Deputy Economy Minister Yegor Perelygin, speaking during a diplomatic visit to Washington, indicated that the upcoming project will likely focus on the energy sector, with a third initiative anticipated before the end of 2026.
Operating in coordination with the U.S. International Development Finance Corp, the U.S.-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund was created a year ago as part of a strategic minerals agreement. The fund targets five critical areas: infrastructure, energy, telecommunications, high technology, and critical minerals. This financial mechanism remains a priority as the nation continues to navigate the economic and physical challenges resulting from the full-scale invasion by Russia more than four years ago.
