UK Vehicle Production Rises Sharply in September

British vehicle production rose 36.3 percent in September to 74031 units, rebounding from a cyber incident that hit output a year earlier. Car manufacturing increased significantly with strong export growth, though total nine-month production remained lower.

United Kingdom vehicle production rose 36.3% to 74,031 units in September, marking the strongest growth since August 2022. The sharp rebound follows a cyber-incident-hit comparison from a year earlier at the country's largest automotive employer. Total output remains down 3% year to date, weighed down by strict electric vehicle mandates and impending post-Brexit rules.
