UK hits Russian oil giant Transneft with sanctions on fourth anniversary of invasion
Britain has sanctioned oil giant Transneft and dozens of tankers to disrupt Russian revenues. This major package marks the fourth anniversary of the war today.
The United Kingdom
GB government announced a package of nearly 300 sanctions on February 24, 2026, targeting the core of Russia
RU energy infrastructure. This latest round of measures specifically focuses on the oil pipeline operator Transneft, which is described as the transporter of more than 80% of crude exports from the country. The package also includes 175 companies within the Dubai-based 2Rivers group and 48 oil tankers identified as part of a so-called shadow fleet, aiming to further reduce energy revenues and disrupt seaborne crude export networks that sustain the war effort.
