Canada's S&P/TSX Composite Index fell 736.13 points, or 2%, to 35,605.27 during Thursday afternoon trading, marking its steepest decline in five months. The selloff followed a sharp drop in United States technology shares driven by fears of tighter artificial intelligence regulation. The market reversal erased much of the previous day's gains across domestic equities.
