Canada's main stock index rose 191.21 points, or 0.5%, to 35,697.49 on Friday afternoon, led by a 3.6% rally in technology shares. The advance pared the index's weekly decline to 2.2% following a six-week closing low set on Thursday. For investors, the session offered a reprieve after four straight weekly losses, the steepest drop since March.
