Trump Asks Supreme Court to Block CA Ballots

The Trump administration has asked the Supreme Court to direct California to set aside certain mailed ballots before the midterm elections. The emergency appeal challenges votes from individuals alleged to be noncitizens.

The United States administration asked the Supreme Court on Monday evening to direct California to set aside 20,000 mailed ballots. The emergency filing came on the eve of midterm elections that will determine control of Congress. The Justice Department argued that commingling the challenged ballots with lawful ones prevents their retrieval.
