TIM SA negotiates majority stake buyback in Brazilian fibre network I-Systems from IHS Towers
TIM SA is in talks to repurchase a majority stake in its former fibre unit for 900 million reais. The deal would restore full control of the network asset.

TIM S.A. is currently in negotiations to repurchase a 51% stake in its fibre-network business, I-Systems, from IHS Holding Limited . The transaction is reported to be valued at approximately 900 million reais, which is roughly equivalent to $171.05 million. If the deal is finalized, it would restore full operational control of the fibre unit to the company and significantly alter the ownership structure of that network asset in Brazil
BR. I-Systems was previously known as FiberCo until TIM S.A.sold the majority stake to IHS Holding Limitedback in 2021.
The parent company, Telecom Italia S.p.A. , which holds a 67% stake in TIM S.A., has already mandated the company to move forward with the discussions. Rothschild has been appointed as an adviser for the deal. While the board of TIM S.A.could potentially review and approve the transaction during its February 10 meeting scheduled for full-year results, there are indications that the negotiations are still ongoing and might extend beyond that date.
