South Korea investigators boarded the HMM Namu on Friday morning to probe an engine-room explosion that occurred near the United Arab Emirates. The vessel, operated by HMM CO LTD, was towed to Dubai after the Monday incident left 24 crew members unharmed. The probe impacts regional energy security as the Strait of Hormuz normally carries about a fifth of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas flows.
