The economy of South Korea contracted at a slightly milder pace in the final quarter of 2025 than previously estimated, according to revised data from the central bank released on Tuesday. Gross domestic product fell by 0.2% in the October-December period on a seasonally adjusted basis, representing an improvement from the 0.3% decline reported in January. This contraction follows a 1.3% increase in the previous quarter and stands as the weakest quarterly performance since the first quarter of 2025.
