Industry Minister Kim Jung-kwan stated on Sunday that the United States is unlikely to impose higher tariffs on South Korea provided that the Korean parliament moves forward with investment legislation as scheduled next week. The remarks follow a period of tension after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to increase duties on South Korean imports to 25%, citing delays in a $350 billion investment commitment agreed upon in a trade deal last year.
