South Africa will prioritize the rollout of 9.6 gigawatts of battery storage and Natural Gas power projects, electricity and energy minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa said on Wednesday afternoon. The continent's largest economy plans to add more than 105 gigawatts of new generation capacity by 2039. The push aims to alleviate grid constraints holding back existing renewable energy resources.
