Sixteen drugmakers agree to lower US prescription prices
Sixteen major pharmaceutical companies have agreed to lower drug prices and sell directly via TrumpRx.gov. These deals provide firms with tariff exemptions now.
President Donald Trump has finalized agreements with 16 major pharmaceutical companies to align prescription drug prices in the United States with those of other developed nations. Under the terms of the deal, these manufacturers will receive three-year exemptions from tariffs on drug imports in exchange for most-favored-nation pricing and significant domestic investments. A central component of the initiative is TrumpRx.gov, a new government-managed platform designed to sell medications directly to consumers.
PFIZER INC was among the first to commit, offering discounts of up to 85% through the new digital channel. The company stated that primary care treatments and brands such as Xeljanz, Eucrisa, and Duavee will be available at average savings of 50%.
