Singapore Secures Full LNG Supply for Rest of 2026
The Energy Market Authority confirmed Singapore has secured enough liquefied natural gas from Australia, the U.S., and Africa to offset lost Qatari imports. These replacement cargoes ensure the nation maintains its full energy requirements through the end of the year.
Singapore secured replacement liquefied natural gas cargoes to cover 100% of its energy needs through the end of 2026. The city-state filled a supply gap after deliveries from Qatar were disrupted by regional conflict. The procurement stabilizes a power grid where Qatari imports previously accounted for 10% of the gas used for electricity generation.
### Diversifying Beyond Qatari Supply Singapore Energy Market Authority Chief Executive Puah Kok Keong confirmed the procurement during an interview in Houston on Wednesday. The replacement cargoes originated from suppliers in the United States, Australia, and Africa.
