Revolut has officially applied for a bank charter in the United States and appointed Cetin Duransoy, a former executive at Visa Inc., as its new CEO for the country. The fintech company, which currently serves 70 million clients across 40 markets, is targeting the American market to expand its service offerings. If the application is approved by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Revolut plans to offer deposits, loans, credit cards, and payment services.
"The United States is a key pillar of our global growth strategy," Revolut Founder and CEO Nik Storonsky said in a statement.
