Quadra Capital Nears 3 Billion Dollar BRB Asset Purchase
Quadra Capital is nearing a 15 billion reais asset purchase from Banco de Brasília. The deal aims to stabilize the state lender following a bank liquidation.
Independent asset manager Quadra Capital is nearing a deal to acquire 15 billion reais ($2.99 billion) in assets from the state-owned Banco de Brasília (BRB). The transaction involves a portfolio originally held by Banco Master, a lender that was liquidated by the central bank of Brazil late last year.
The acquisition is pending a review by the central bank, which must provide a non-objection for the deal to proceed. While formal approval may not be strictly necessary under current regulations, the monetary authority is examining the transaction framework to understand its impact on the financial system. Both Quadra Capital and BRB have refrained from commenting on the specifics of the talks.
