QatarEnergy Warns Orlen of Possible LNG Cargo Delays
QatarEnergy issued a force majeure notice to Orlen regarding two LNG cargoes scheduled for April and May. Orlen stated that Polish gas supplies remain secure.
ORLEN SA has received a force majeure notification from QatarEnergy regarding potential disruptions to its liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply. A person familiar with the matter noted that two cargoes scheduled for delivery in April and early May could be delayed or canceled.
The declaration by the Qatari energy firm comes amid the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. This regional instability has impacted production in Qatar, leading to the formal notice of supply interruptions.

Despite these challenges, the energy security of Poland is not considered to be at risk. Orlen stated that imports from Qatar accounted for less than 10% of its total demand in 2025. The company utilizes a diversified supply portfolio and flexible trading tools to balance its LNG requirements, including the use of alternative global routes.
The suspension of some LNG production by QatarEnergy does not pose a threat to the security of gas supplies to Poland.
Orlen further confirmed that the LNG delivery from Qatar scheduled for March is proceeding as planned. The company remains confident in its ability to maintain stable supplies through its existing infrastructure and market mechanisms.
