QatarEnergy is in advanced talks with NEXTDECADE CORP to buy up to 2 million metric tons per annum of LNG from the Rio Grande project in United States, people familiar with the matter said late Wednesday morning.
The potential supply deal centers on Train 6 at the Texas export facility, which remains in the permitting stage without a final investment decision. NEXTDECADE CORP previously secured offtake agreements for the first five trains under development near Brownsville.
