Poste Italiane Raises Dividend and Forecasts 2026 Growth
The state-backed conglomerate expects 2026 net profit to reach 2.3 billion euros. It raised its dividend by 16 percent after reporting record annual revenues.
State-backed financial conglomerate Poste Italiane S.p.A. has announced an upgraded financial outlook, projecting higher profits through 2026 following a period of robust quarterly performance. The group, headquartered in Italy, also confirmed a substantial increase in shareholder returns as it continues to capitalize on its diversified service portfolio. For the 2025 fiscal year, the company achieved record adjusted revenues of 13.1 billion euros, representing a 4% annual increase. This figure, which strips out volatile items such as raw material purchase charges and transportation costs for its power supply business, is expected to climb further to 13.5 billion euros this year. Management has guided for a net profit of 2.3 billion euros in 2026, a slight improvement over the 2.2 billion euros reported in the most recent annual results. In a move to reward investors, the company hiked its dividend by 16% year-on-year, distributing a total of 1.6 billion euros. This adjustment brings the dividend payout ratio to 73%, up from the previous 70%. The firm has pledged to maintain this ratio above the 70% threshold through 2026. The Italian state remains the primary recipient of these distributions, holding a direct 29.3% stake in the company alongside a 35% stake held through the state investor Cassa Depositi e Prestiti. Over recent years, the business has evolved significantly beyond its origins in traditional mail and parcels. The conglomerate now operates extensively across insurance, payments, savings management, energy, and mobile telecommunications, a strategy that has underpinned its recent revenue growth and record-breaking financial milestones.
