Ping An Insurance reports 6.45 percent rise in 2025 profit
Ping An reported a net profit of 134.78 billion yuan for 2025 as new business value surged. Growth was supported by strong equity investment performance.
Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, Ltd. reported a 6.45% year-on-year increase in net profit for 2025, reaching 134.778 billion yuan ($19.51 billion). The results, while showing growth, were slightly below market expectations of 136.774 billion yuan. Despite the shortfall, the insurer saw a 10.3% rise in operating profit, supported by a strong recovery in its life and health insurance segments.
The new business value (NBV) for the life and health division, a key metric for future profitability, grew by 29.3% to 36.897 billion yuan. This surge reflects a broader industry transition in China toward higher-margin products after a period of declining agent productivity and weak consumer demand.
