Libya has experienced a suspension of operations at its El Feel oilfield since Thursday, according to reports from field engineers. The National Oil Corporation (NOC) directed the shutdown to utilize the field's pipeline for transporting crude from the Sharara field, which suffered damage to its own infrastructure following a fire.

Oil flows from Sharara are currently being redirected through the El Feel pipeline to the Mellitah port and via the Hamada pipeline to storage tanks in Zawiya. Engineers from the Sharara oilfield noted on Monday that the pumping capacity via these alternative routes ranges between 80,000 and 100,000 barrels per day (bpd).
